A Critical Evaluation of Forming Limit Curves Regarding Layout of Bending Processes

چکیده
Forming limit curves (FLCs) are important to predict failure against biaxial deformation in sheet metal forming. Particularly crucial is the detection and evaluation of stable/instable transition which indicates necking ultimately leads rupture. In past, it has been observed that specific processes, particular free-form bending might not be predicted well by conventionally evaluated FLCs, i.e. Nakajima experiment, where tapered specimens stretched over a hemispherical punch until material failure. present study, FLCs from such tests notched tension (NTT) highlighting large differences between both results. The methodologies discussed with respect contact strain forming zone. three tested materials compared fracture resulting an incremental process free zone demonstrating increased prediction accuracy NTT than conventional ones. light these results, therefore encouraged critically assess application obtained NTTs various processes.

Effect of different yield functions on computations of forming limit curves for aluminum alloy sheets
In this article, the effect of different yield functions on prediction of forming limit curve (FLC) for aluminum sheet is studied. Due to importance of FLC in sheet metal forming, concentration on effective parameters must be considered exactly in order to have better theoretical prediction comparing experimental results. Yield function is one of the factors which are improved by adding new coe...

A common strategy for stabilizing the greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere was the introduction of new emissions limits for cars, and light commercial vehicles. For that reason the automotive industry is facing new challenges in order to fulfill these considerations. One of the strategies attained, is to employ new grades of Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) to replace conventional...
متن کاملEvaluation of Ductile Damage Criteria in Hot Forming Processes
The process of ductile fracture which occurs due to the accumulation, growth and combination of defects or cracks of material is called ductile damage. Failure in materials can be predicted, using damage mechanics and damage criteria. On the other hand, most of the materials depended to the manufacturing process, are formed in warm or hot conditions so that; the temperature also affects on the ...
متن کاملA novel method for laser forming of two-step bending of a dome shaped part
In recent decades, one of the challenges in sheet metal forming was production of two-step bending surfaces without mechanical tools and external force or by a combination of heat source and mechanical tools. Forming with a heat source such as laser beam has the potential for forming arbitrary 3D shapes such as two-step bending surfaces. In this paper a novel method for laser forming of complic...
